Having Gavin's wish granted was a dream come true for all of us. Tim and I longed to be able to take our kids on a REAL vacation, but sadly, because of our medical costs, we knew that would never happen while they were kids. It was so discouraging to have an illness take over our son's, and consequently our, whole life. To have this thing that we dread and can't remove prevent us from living and dreaming disheartened us tremendously. But then the Make-A-Wish Foundation came along. Not only did they give Gavin, and consequently us, an opportunity to dream, they made our dream come true.
We've never seen our children's eyes sparkle the way they did when we lived out our son's wish at Disney World. Our normally shy son who usually is too timid to try anything new, marched up onto a stage in front of a live audience to become a real Star Wars Jedi with nothing but excitement in his eyes. We were in awe of how this opportunity transformed him. Our hearts overflowed with joy as we saw him grin from ear to ear in the middle of it!
The Make-A-Wish Foundation and Give Kids the World Village treated us like we were movie stars from beginning to end and they made what would otherwise be impossible, possible.
And so we thank you all for blessing us with hundreds of magical moments that we will carry with us for a lifetime.
