Riverside, CA – Hunter enjoys watching his team, the Anaheim Ducks, play and playing floor hockey at home with his dad. When Hunter was diagnosed with leukemia, he was not able to play hockey with his dad. Luckily, he was still able to watch the Ducks play, so Hunter's wish was an easy one. For Hunter, his wish was to meet his favorite player, George Parros. When he was asked why he wanted to meet Parros, Hunter enthusiastically replied, "Because he's crazy like me!!!"
On the day of Hunter’s wish, the whole team was already prepared to meet him. To start off the excitement, the captain of the team, Ryan Getzlaf, sprayed water at Hunter over the rink's protective glass during practice, and of course, Hunter had to respond by pounding on the glass a few times with a clenched fist. Bobby Ryan then came up to Hunter and engaged in a conversation with him. To Hunter's surprise, even Coach Randy Carlyle said "hello" to him during practice! George Parros smiled, winked, and waved a few times before he finally came out to greet him after practice. Parros later took Hunter on a tour of the locker room for some more "manly stuff". The whole team was very gracious and inviting to Hunter, and every single player happily signed his jersey. George Parros even personally escorted Hunter to the Team Store where they picked out some "Stache Gear!"
The day after his meeting with Parros, Hunter went to watch the Ducks in action. He was recognized as an Honorary Duck on the Honda Vision Screen for the entire Honda Center to see! This was truly a magical wish for Hunter.
