Thomas is a natural explorer and enjoys adventures! As an athlete, this 9-year-old boy loves playing basketball and surfing with his friends. He also likes hanging out by the beach or just going out for a swim. Despite being diagnosed with cystic fibrosis, Thomas’s love for a travel adventure always remained strong.

Aside from hanging out with his friends by the beach, Thomas loves being around his family. When it came to choosing his most heartfelt wish, Thomas wished to see the historic landmarks of Rome, Italy with his family.

In July of 2018, Thomas and his family were picked up in a stretched out limo and headed to the airport in true style. During his wish trip, he viewed the beautiful scenery of the Colosseum and the Trevi Fountain - where he got to learn more of the vast history of the city! Thomas even explored the city on a Segway - like a real local!

“It was magical seeing his reaction to seeing all the sites that he’d seen in his books and on the TV,” Thomas’ mom, Natalie, shared, “his wishes really did come true!”

Besides the history and beautiful landmarks, Thomas’ wish trip was full of delicious authentic Italian food! One of the highlights of his trip was eating pizza topped with french fries - his two favorite foods!

His wish trip created so many memories that Thomas and his family will forever cherish. It was a trip that allowed them to focus on simply having a good time while being away from medical treatments.

“Whilst cystic fibrosis is always part of our daily routine, it was great for Tom to know that he can experience life and manage his condition.  We are beyond grateful and truly appreciate Make-A-Wish,” Natalie said.
