Taylor is a brave young man who is living with end stage renal disease. He likes to spend his time biking, swimming or playing video games. Taylor’s classmates were taking a school trip to New York over the summer, but unfortunately he could not go with the rest of his friends due to his medical condition.
After some thought, he knew exactly what he wanted to wish for. When asked, he exclaimed his most heartfelt wish was to go to New York! He wanted to make the trip to the Big Apple with his family for New Year’s Eve to see the ball drop.

“We couldn’t have asked for anything better,” said Barbara, Taylor’s mom. “Make-A-Wish has gone above and beyond to make kids’ wishes come true and it just makes us speechless.”
Taylor and his family had a jam packed week full of unforgettable experiences. The highlights of their trip include going to musical performances, making their own pizza pies at Naples, exploring the city, touring the New Year’s Eve crystal ball before it dropped and of course, being in Times Square for the countdown to the New Year. Taylor’s favorite moment, however, was climbing up to the 103rd floor of the Empire State Building. He said even though it was foggy, he could still see everything and it was simply amazing. He could not believe the incredible view and feeling of being on top of the world.
“I am just overwhelmed with everything. It’s a lot to take in but it’s exciting to see everything here, and to see everything we’ve gotten to see is just amazing,” said Edward, Taylor’s dad.
His parents are still just overwhelmed and practically speechless about the entire wish experience. They are all so thankful for the hope and joy it brought to their family, and for bringing them together on this unforgettable trip.
