I wish to go to Atlantis

“ I had the chance to be together with my family and just have fun ”

- Colin

Colin had a hard time remembering what it was like to be a 15-year-old boy. His primary immune disorder had left him sick and tired for four years. When Colin was given the chance to be a teenager again, he knew exactly what he wanted: a family vacation. “We haven’t had fun together since I got sick,” said Colin. “I had the chance to be together with my family and just have fun.” His wish took him and his family on an unforgettable journey to Atlantis.

For the first time, the whole family left behind their lives in Huntington Beach to fly out to the Bahamas. “Everybody was excited for the trip,” said Colin. Their excitement soared when they landed in paradise.  Atlantis had everything they could ask for: a beautiful hotel overlooking the beach, fabulous restaurants, a spa, a water park and a marine habitat.

For three days, Colin felt like a normal teenager. He did all the things that his sickness had prevented him from doing and more. He swam with dolphins, walked on the beach and played in wave pools. “It showed me I can still do the stuff I did before I was sick,” said Colin when thinking about the trip.

Best of all, there was something to do for everyone. “My family completely enjoyed the trip. They all had a blast,” said Colin. The most important part of his wish was the memories he made with his family. “We were always together and we were always having fun together.”
