Being the conductor of the Monorail at Disneyland was the one thing Josh wished for most.
Joshua loves trains! On days when the effects of his chemotherapy are bothering him, the one thing that makes him feel better is playing with his trains or watching programs about trains on television. He has always wanted to be a train conductor on the ‘high up’ train in Disneyland and make the announcements.
Giving Joshua that opportunity seemed nearly impossible but thanks to Make-A-Wish and the Hamilton Family, his dream came true.
This young train aficionado’s wish began as soon as he arrived at Disneyland. The first thing he did was go to the Monorail so he could help ‘drive’ the train around the park. Joshua had a great time riding in the front car with the conductor and he did such a great job that he received a certificate making him an honorary Disneyland conductor!
His special day continued with even more wonderful surprises. Joshua had a private meet and greet with Mickey Mouse and he even had the opportunity to ride in Walt Disney’s private train car, the Lilly Belle!
The joy in Joshua's eyes and the smile he carried from ear to ear was happiness unlike anything his parents saw in him before. For the first time Joshua forgot about the pain, the doctor’s visits, and his medical condition. He was filled with the hope, strength and joy one can only experience through having a wish come true.
