Trailblaze Challenge

2021 Trailblaze Challenge COVID-19 Postponement

Dear Trailblaze Challenge Community,

We love the Trailblaze Challenge – and all of you!  The health and safety of our hikers, supporters, staff, and wish families remain a top priority for Make-A-Wish, which is why we’ve made the difficult decision to postpone Trailblaze Challenge to June 25-27, 2021. We conducted a thorough review of current public health statistics and restrictions and had a discussion with the hotel in Big Bear regarding health safety in order to determine the best course of action. While we’re disappointed to share the news, we’re confident that this is the most responsible way to move forward. Thank you for your patience and understanding as our team worked to pivot at numerous points throughout the past few months.

Your Funds will RolloverMany of you have worked so hard to train and fundraise over the last few months and for that we are forever grateful. For those of you who would like to continue with the program, we will roll your funds over to the 2021 event. Summer Hike Weekend dates are scheduled for Friday, June 25 to Sunday, June 27, with the Trailblaze hike happening on Saturday, June 26th, 2021. Click here for FAQs

We are still granting wishes. Covid has had a devastating impact on our ability to fundraise this year. Nearly 489 children are waiting for their wishes and we need everyone’s support to grant them as soon as possible. Thank you for helping us bring experiences of hope and joy to waiting wish kids and for sticking with us as we discover new and innovative ways to grant wishes today — and into the future.

The Trailblaze Challenge has enriched our lives in so many ways. We love connecting with you on the trails, pushing each other to be our best and collectively supporting our wish kids. We look forward to staying connected and to continuing our collective impact on children in our community. COVID can’t get us down and we look forward to many more trail talks to come.

As always, we wish you good health and happiness.

Carolyn Holmes
