Make-A-Wish Opens Palm Springs Office

PALM SPRINGS, Calif. — Make-A-Wish® Orange County and the Inland Empire recently announced the opening of its third office, located in Palm Springs. The chapter is headquartered in Irvine with an additional satellite office in Riverside.

The office space was generously donated by HÔM Sotheby's and will be staffed by Deborah Weiss, Director of the Coachella Valley.

“We are thrilled to bring Make-A-Wish to Palm Springs to enhance our reach in the desert communities,” said Weiss. “I look forward to cultivating new relationships with individuals, corporations and others who are passionate about helping grant wishes to children with life-threatening medical conditions.”

Located at 111 S. Palm Canyon Drive, the space gives the organization an opportunity to grow and expand to help reach its goal of granting 347 wishes this year.

“We have been serving children of the Coachella Valley for more than 30 years, but this office gives us the opportunity to have a much more personal relationship with our wish kids as well as our volunteers and contributors,” said Stephanie McCormick, President and CEO of Make-A-Wish® Orange County and the Inland Empire.

Make-A-Wish began in 1983 when the chapter granted 14-year-old Tamra Smith’s wish to see the blue waters of the Caribbean. Since then, the chapter has granted more than 5,000 wishes to children living in Orange, Riverside and San Bernardino counties.

The organization will be hosting a welcome reception on Thursday, January 15 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the Hacienda Cantina and Beach Club in Palm Springs. Contact Deborah Weiss for more information at or 760-668-2713.
