IRVINE – September 4, 2019 – Make-A-Wish® Orange County and the Inland Empire today announced that the Board of Directors has selected Gloria Jetter Crockett as its new President & Chief Executive Officer, effective September 4, 2019
Crockett is an accomplished leader with more than 25 years of non-profit experience. She most recently served as the Chief Development Officer at Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County.
“Gloria is very much dedicated to the Make-A-Wish mission of creating life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses and we are excited to see her leading the organization forward,” said Janine Lombardi, chairwoman of the Make-A-Wish Board of Directors. “She brings decades of experience in strategic planning, fundraising and program development, and we feel she is exactly the right person to lead us into the next chapter.”
Prior to her role at Second Harvest Food Bank, Crockett spent time at the University of California, Irvine School of Medicine where she was responsible for $10 million in fundraising annually. Crockett also spent 17 years with the American Cancer Society in Maryland where she drove fundraising efforts and led the organization’s community and volunteerism efforts.
"This once in a lifetime opportunity to lead Make-A-Wish by advancing the vision, overall strategic initiatives and priorities in partnership with a passionate staff, Board of Directors, volunteers and other key stakeholders by granting wishes that provide joy and hope to children is quite humbling," stated Crockett.
As previously announced this year, Stephanie McCormick, President and CEO of Make-A-Wish Orange County and the Inland Empire, will depart the organization after a
successful 8-year career helping drive the organization’s overall strategy and vision. She will depart September 12, 2019.
