Eight year old Isaac is an incredibly loving and caring young boy. When volunteer wish granters met with Isaac during his wish interview it was very clear that Isaac wanted his wish to be something that would benefit more than just himself. Like many kids, when asked about his one true heartfelt wish, Isaac had puppies on his mind. His wish was not for a new dog, but to make sure his two family pups were happy and healthy.
Isaac was diagnosed with Leukemia last year which compromised his immune system. Due to his lack of a healthy immune system, he was unable to play with his two dogs, “Mamas” and “Papas”. Mamas and Papas hadn’t been to the veterinarian in some time and Isaac’s parents were worried they may have fleas, resulting in Isaac’s inability to interact with them. Isaac really wanted to be able to love and play with his two dogs, so it only made sense for Make-A-Wish to grant his wish and get his dogs in tip top shape!
To start off his wish day, Isaac walked down the red carpet into Banfield Pet Hospital with a wide smile and immediately received his very own Banfield lab coat and stethoscope! He was an honorary vet for the day, which included shadowing the veterinarian and even helping out on a few tasks for Mamas and Papas during their check-up. He even got his own honorary veterinarian certificate that he can hang in his room!
Once Mamas and Papas received a clean bill of health, there were more surprises waiting for Isaac. Isaac received tons of goodies for his two pups. He received dog beds, dog carriers, a 5-month supply of dog food, grooming supplies, and more! In addition, Banfield Pet Hospital gave Isaac future services certificates so Mamas and Papas can get future check-ups and grooming appointments. Lastly, Isaac received a full basket of new dog toys which he and his pups are sure to need with all of the playtime ahead!
Isaac can now play with his two healthy pups as much as he wants, whenever he wants, and without worry. The entire day at the pet hospital, Isaac had the biggest smile on his face. His family was so happy to see him filled with so much joy. Isaac and his family are so grateful that Make-A-Wish gave them this opportunity, it was a day that Isaac will remember and cherish for many years to come.
