“Her wish was to go to New York during the Holidays...My wish is to see her happy, healthy and back on
the softball field.”
In June of 2016, Taylor was diagnosed with fibrolamellar cancer while attending a softball tournament in Colorado. Days later, she endured life-threatening surgery to remove the large mass that had grown on her liver. A fighter, Taylor never let her diagnosis stop her from accomplishing her dreams. She turned to her family and friends for support the entire way through.
Last year, Make-A-Wish granted Taylor’s wish to go to New York during the Holidays and see the ball drop in Times Square.
Here’s what Taylor’s dad, Rick, had to say about the experience:
How would you describe Taylor over the past few years?
Taylor’s outlook on life has never diminished throughout this process. She is a very confident young lady and continues to be strong.
What was it like to watch your child experience her wish?
Throughout the entire process and during the wish trip we were pinching ourselves! Watching Taylor ice skate in Central Park and touch the New Year’s Eve ball was an absolutely incredible experience.
How has this wish impacted your family?
The experience of Taylor’s wish will stick with us for the rest of our lives. I am so thankful to Make-A-Wish for granting my daughter’s wish. We had the time of our lives!
