Jacob is an energetic teen who loves playing video games, watching baseball and playing his guitar. He is living with the diagnosis of t-cell non-hodgkin’s lymphoma. During his treatments, he found that music gave him an escape and a sense of comfort. One of his favorite hobbies is playing the guitar. Jacob’s most heartfelt wish was to visit the Gibson Guitar Factory in Memphis, Tennessee!
Jacob’s wish trip began when his family was escorted to the airport in a limousine, he felt like a true VIP. The next day was the moment that Jacob had been looking forward to! A driver picked his up and took his family to Gibson, USA, the birthplace of the guitars strummed by most of the top country and rock stars. Giant computer-controlled body cutters and hand-operated band saws, sanders, buffing wheels, beeping fork lifts, spray guns and whirring pick-up winders made the air hum. He was able to see how guitars are created, and was then presented with his very own Gibson guitar! The following time was spent touring Memphis, and even going on a ‘Home of the Start’ tour, and a visit to the Country Music Hall of Fame!
Jacob made amazing memories during his wish trip. He will strum on his guitar and remember how special his experience was with his family.
