Monthly Spotlight

In honor of our 35th anniversary, we want to celebrate all those who make us who we are. Check back each month as we spotlight the different members in our community who support our mission.

February Spotlight: Our Donors

In honor of her 50th birthday, Robin wished to help grant wishes for children with critical illnesses. Through her Gold Gift Box fundraiser at her birthday celebration and her Make-A-Wish fundraising page, Robin successfully achieved over 270% of her fundraiser goal. Her creativity connected the community and shared the powerful message of how we can all make a difference through a simple and kind gesture.   Robin Saul

“My wish for my 50th Birthday was to have a BIG party celebration with family and friends. Together, we fulfilled my wish and also granted many wishes to children with dreams. Never stop blowing dandelions, wishes do come true!”

 – Robin Saul

Jerry For over seven years, Jerry and her family (Team J-dog!) have raised funds for Make-A-Wish® by participating in our Walk for Wishes events. Her grandson, Joseph, was diagnosed with a brain tumor at only 7 years old. His wish to go to Hawaii brought joy to the family. Since then, Jerry has continued to connect her community with our chapter by starting exciting fundraisers!

“My family’s world was turned upside down as we began a new life filled with hospitalizations and endless rehabilitation… Participating each year reminds us what granting a wish is all about: a lifetime of beautiful memories for another family to experience.”

 – Jerry
Serving as Vice Chairman of our chapter’s Board of Directors and Co-Chair for our It’s in the Bag event, Komron and Elisa, respectively, have long supported Make-A-Wish® Orange County and the Inland Empire. On top of their active leadership roles, they have amassed generous donations from community-wide campaigns, including a game drive that successfully collected over 250 board games and a fundraiser in honor of their daughter, Lily’s, first birthday! Tarkeshian Family

“We want Lily to be raised knowing about the importance of giving back, so we thought starting with her first birthday would be great! We are hoping to make this a tradition because giving to Make-A-Wish can really change a child’s life.”

– Elisa & Komron

Erin

Erin has helped fulfill and tell the beautiful stories of many wish kids through her work for Make-A-Wish® Orange County and the Inland Empire. She pursues photography not only because of her creative mind but also because of her caring heart. Through her talent, Erin has found her way of capturing breathtaking moments and sharing it with others.

"I photograph for Make-A-Wish because although I don’t think we can be entirely sure what we are here for, if we try to make the world a better place than when we left it and help fill it with more happiness, I think that's really what it’s about.”

Jeff has brought cheer and relief to many wish kids and families through the donation of his DJ services at several wishes, as well as to our community at our Walk for Wishes events. His dedication to the work that he does has led him to continue to be a passionate supporter of the Make-A-Wish® mission.

 Jeff

“It’s funny how it works but the most rewarding events that I’ve been a part of are the ones I donate my services to. That’s why I give back, it’s about the kids and the people at Make-A-Wish, they are the reason I continue my grateful journey with them.”
